Mission Adventure for Kentucky Kids

Who can attend?
Girls and boys who have completed grades 4-6 and their leaders. Leaders must be 21 years or older and a member of the sending church. Kids and leaders will be expected to be “flexible” just like all missionaries. Children and adults need to be willing to work and serve.
Where will we stay?
Russellville: Participants will stay on the property of First Baptist Church. Boys and girls will be separated. Children will need sleeping bags. Adults may bring air mattresses. A shower trailer will be provided.
Frankfort: Participants will stay on the property of Crestwood Baptist Church. Boys and girls will be separated. Children will need sleeping bags. Adults may bring air mattresses. A shower trailer will be provided.
What is the cost?
Each location costs $60 per person if registered by the Early Bird date of May 15, 2018. This includes adults as well as children. Registration after the Early Bird Rate is $70 per person. Cost includes meals, lodging, recreation, and a t-shirt. A commuter registration option (which does not include lodging or breakfast) is also available: $50 per person by May 15, 2018; $60 per person after May 15, 2018. (Mission Adventure for Kentucky Kids is sponsored in part by the Kentucky WMU Heritage Fund, Eliza Broadus Offering for State Missions, and the Cooperative Program.)

What are the requirements for Church Leaders?
Church leaders must:
   • Be 21 years of age or older
   • Pass a background check (conducted by sponsoring church)
   • Be a member of the sponsoring church
   • Be a non-smoker
   • Set a good example for kids in speech, conduct, and dress
Adults are expected to supervise their church kids. This includes all daily activities as well as staying with children through the night. Church leaders must provide on-site transportation for their children. While adults will not plan mission projects, they are needed to help guide the children as they participate. Church leaders are encouraged to spend time in prayer with the children they will chaperone prior to the event. One male church leader is needed for every 1-5 boys and one female church leader is needed for every 1-5 girls. Due to limited space, please contact Stacy Nall if you would like to bring additional leaders.
Each church must complete an Acknowledgement and Assurance Form and send it to Kentucky WMU. This form assures Kentucky WMU that your church has conducted background checks on each chaperone.
How do I register? (Registration opens in January)
Register online or complete the registration form. You must also complete the Acknowledgement and Assurance Form to send with your registration.
After Kentucky WMU receives your registration form and Acknowledgement and Assurance Form, you will be sent a confirmation packet including: confirmation form, health and release form, letter to parents, a preparation list for church leaders, and list of suggested items to bring for an offering.
Registration forms and fees are due May 31. Registration fees are refundable when cancelled by May 31. After May 31, fees are non-refundable but are transferable to an unregistered participant.
Don’t wait!
Space at projects is limited. Call in advance to reserve your preferred location at no additional cost. Contact Stacy Nall at 502-489-3454 or to reserve your location.
